The Japanese lack the supersized physiques sans Godzilla Matsui in the Outfield, to be large sized power pitchers, of which it seems most any great staff will need for success..seems like there would be too many smaller guys similar to Maddux, Mussina, Key, Glavine,etc..dancing around the edges?
Great staffs seem to have a mix of L/R, Power/Finesse, Fly/Ground, Day/Night, Velocity/Location,etc..that create an awkwardness for opposing hitters by the shifting of gears.
Unless steroids in the cattle over there are starting to create some Sumo-sized baseballers akin to Clemens, Johnson, Schilling, Rogers, Carpenter, Bonderman,etc..
